چکیده
Based on two case studies this paper describes aspects of designing tool support for collaborative reflection that people want to use. These factors include the importance and proper application of user participation in design process, different ways of introducing collaborative reflection tools into the work of people, the importance of social procedure aligned to tool usage and features supporting the usage of reflection tools. The paper refers to case studies with an IT Consulting company and a hospital ward.

Analyzing Collaborative Reflection Support: A Content Analysis Approach
Collaborative reflection helps groups to learn from work experiences for future work. Although its potential has been recognized and initial work is available, insights on how tools support people in collaborative reflection at work are scarce. We present an approach to analyze collaborative reflection support based on content analysis and an initial study in which it was applied to four cases ...
متن کاملGuiding Articulation for Learning at Work: A Case of Reflection
In this paper, we present work on implementing articulation support and means for guiding users for integrating collaborative learning and work. We present a case from the MIRROR project, in which we developed and piloted a tool supporting reflection as a means for learning at work. From the insights of this study, we derive a concept of scaffolding which prompts informal learning if the reflec...
متن کاملFostering Collaborative Redesign of Work Practice: Challenges for Tools Supporting Reflection at Work
Reflection is a well-known mechanism to learn from experience. Often, it has been investigated from an educational viewpoint or as a formalised procedure such as in project debriefings. Based on an analysis of three case studies, we show that collaborative reflection is much more embedded in daily work and that it supports collaborative, bottom-up redesign of work. We found that processes of wo...
متن کاملConfiguring an “animated Work Environment”: a User-centered Design Approach
The dramatic shift in the nature, place and organization of working life, as well as the sophistication of information technologies employed in work, have prompted a transdisciplinary team to develop an intelligent environment supporting increasingly digital lifestyles. This “Animated Work Environment” (AWE) is envisioned less as a design product and more as the locus of interaction between peo...
متن کاملPrompting users to facilitate support needs in collaborative reflection
Reflection and collaborative reflection are common activities at workplace, in which people alone or together with colleagues revisit experiences to learn for future situations. Often support needs arise during reflection and for example people get stuck and don’t know how to continue. We propose to fill this gap with prompting as tool-supported scaffolding mechanism. Based on literature and ou...
